Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

About Our Client

Our client is a leading force in retrofit skills, dedicated to improving the sustainability of UK housing. They support the national transition to net zero by training professional retrofitters and shaping industry standards.

Role Purpose

The Lead Tutor will deliver high‑quality training, assessment, and, where applicable, internal quality assurance across our client’s retrofit training portfolio. The role requires expert technical knowledge, strong training capability, and a commitment to learner success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training & Assessment: Deliver retrofit training across classroom, online, bootcamp, and bespoke formats. Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback within a 5-day SLA. Adapt delivery to diverse learning needs and ensure compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Learner Support: Act as the primary contact for allocated learners. Provide coaching, guidance, and remove barriers to learning.
  • Quality Assurance & Collaboration: Conduct IQA activities (where qualified). Partner with colleagues to monitor progress, share best practice, and support trainer development.
  • Course & Product Development: Contribute technical input to course design, updates, and evaluation. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, standards, and industry innovation.
  • Administration & Compliance: Maintain accurate learner records and ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Retrofit Assessor or Coordinator (or DEA where relevant).
  • 3+ years professional retrofit experience with strong technical expertise.
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and digital capability.
  • Ability to inspire and support diverse learners.

Desirable

  • IQA qualification.
  • Experience mentoring other trainers/assessors.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Training/assessing qualifications or progress towards them.
  • Experience assessing retrofit learner work.
