A leading Tier 1 contractor is looking to appoint a Quality Manager to support its West Midlands & South West business unit. This is a key strategic role, sitting within the Senior Leadership Team, with full regional oversight of quality, compliance, and "right first time" delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants real influence across multiple projects, working closely with operational, technical, and pre‐construction teams.

The Role

You will take ownership of quality across the region, ensuring projects are delivered in line with business standards, client expectations, and industry regulations. You'll act as the central point of expertise, supporting both live projects and tenders, while driving continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audits & Compliance
    • Develop and manage the regional audit programme
    • Carry out monthly audits and produce detailed reports
    • Analyse trends and implement corrective strategies
    • Monitor NCRs and ensure timely close‐out
    • Lead ISO 9001 / BSI audits and internal compliance reviews
    • Review supply chain quality systems
  • Technical Support (Pre‐Construction & Delivery)
    • Provide technical input on tenders and live projects (envelope, waterproofing, fire, BREEAM, etc.)
    • Identify risks and opportunities within design and construction
    • Support design team meetings and technical workshops
    • Assist site teams with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
    • Carry out site inspections and resolve quality/design issues
    • Work closely with subcontractors to ensure compliance and quality standards
  • Quality Leadership
    • Drive a "right first time" culture across projects
    • Investigate non‐conformances and implement root‐cause solutions
    • Deliver training and share lessons learned across teams
    • Support continuous improvement within pre‐construction and delivery functions
    • Represent the business at client and framework quality meetings

About You

  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager / Senior QA role within construction
  • Strong technical knowledge across key building packages (envelope, fire, waterproofing etc.)
  • Experience working for a main contractor on complex projects
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 / BMS systems
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels
  • Proactive, detail‐driven, and solutions‐focused
