About the Role

A large public sector organisation is seeking an experienced professional to lead on governance and compliance within its Procurement function. This role will ensure robust decision-making processes, alignment with governance frameworks, and compliance with relevant procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and implement governance frameworks and compliance checks for procurement activity.
  • Facilitate and track decision-making processes.
  • Ensure quality and clarity of decision reports, aligned to policy and strategy.
  • Liaise with legal, finance, audit, and committee support teams to ensure integrated governance.
  • Define and maintain decision-making templates, SOPs, and frameworks.
  • Deliver training and monitor compliance KPIs.
  • Act as subject-matter expert for governance and compliance queries.
  • Lead and support senior leadership team initiatives and manage staff.

Essential Experience

  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks and compliance in a public sector setting.
  • Experience in procurement governance and decision-making processes.
  • Ability to manage complex workflows and stakeholder relationships.
  • Skilled in policy interpretation and report writing.
  • Leadership experience, including managing staff.
