About the Role

Our client is seeking Lead Civil Engineers to join their Delivery group, working on non‑infrastructure UK water engineering projects. You will act as a technical specialist and/or in a lead role, developing and applying advanced engineering techniques, while guiding project teams to deliver high‑quality outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes.
  • Prepare calculations and develop civil engineering deliverables (models, drawings, reports) within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams on complex projects.
  • Develop recommendations for materials, construction techniques, and project specifications.
  • Serve as a technical specialist providing advice and guidance to project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety duties of designers.

What Our Client is Looking For

  • Civil Engineering design and/or hydraulics/structural background.
  • Experience in design and build, particularly non‑infrastructure water/wastewater treatment works.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team (civil, structural, geotechnical, hydraulics).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface across disciplines and deliver engineering outputs efficiently.
