A leading industrial engineering organisation is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to support a wide range of tooling and assembly solutions across multiple sectors. This is a customer-facing role focused on maintaining and optimising production-critical systems within fast-paced manufacturing environments.
You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of specialist equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and performance for customers across the UK.
Key responsibilities:- Carry out installation, commissioning and planned maintenance on industrial tooling and joining systems.
- Diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis on mechanical, electrical and software issues.
- Support production environments where downtime is critical, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
- Work with integrated systems including tooling software, line control systems and customer IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical support and a high level of service to customers on site.
- Interpret production processes and understand how tooling integrates with wider manufacturing systems.
- Manage workload planned in advance, typically scheduled two weeks ahead.
You will be a multi-skilled engineer with both mechanical and electrical competence, comfortable working in demanding manufacturing environments. You should also have an interest in or experience with software and system integration as this area continues to grow in importance.
Skills and experience required:- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Background in a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive or another high-volume, high-pressure setting.
- Knowledge of industrial power tools such as pneumatic, battery or DC systems.
- Experience supporting customers in a field service or technical role.
- Understanding of network infrastructure and connected systems.
- Exposure to PLCs and line control systems, any experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar is beneficial.
- Ability to troubleshoot across mechanical, electrical and software elements.
Candidates should ideally be based in the Midlands or North West. Role involves UK-wide travel with occasional overnight stays when required. Most jobs allow for same-day travel, with flexibility for accommodation where distance requires it. Overtime is available in line with customer needs.
