Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organised Credit Controller to join our finance team in Birmingham. This role will focus on managing and reducing 0-90 day aged debt, ensuring timely collections while maintaining strong customer relationships. This position is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, with a focus on 0-90 day aged debt
- Proactively contact customers via phone and email to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to support effective collections
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure payment terms are adhered to
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries to prevent payment delays
- Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate account records
- Produce and review aged debt reports, highlighting risks and overdue balances
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales and operations) to resolve issues impacting payment
- Support month-end processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately

- Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable
- Strong focus on early-stage collections (0-90 day debt)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
