We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team providing housing support services including property cleaning, maintenance, repairs, gardening, and general property upkeep. The role involves working across residential properties to ensure homes are clean, safe, well-maintained, and presented to a high standard for tenants, landlords, and housing clients. This is a mobile role covering properties across the Birmingham area, therefore candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and be confident travelling independently between sites. Mileage expenses are included for work-related travel. The ideal candidate will be practical, trustworthy, physically fit, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out deep cleans, end-of-tenancy cleans, and regular property cleaning services
  • Prepare residential properties for new tenants and occupants
  • Perform general property maintenance tasks and basic repairs
  • Assist with painting, decorating, and general refurbishment work when required
  • Maintain gardens and outdoor areas including:
    • Grass cutting
    • Hedge trimming
    • Weeding
    • Pressure washing
    • General tidying
  • Remove rubbish, unwanted items, and dispose of waste responsibly
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns to management
  • Use cleaning products, tools, and equipment safely and correctly
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard
  • Travel between residential properties across the Birmingham area as required
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times
