Senior Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Multidisciplinary Consultancy - Belfast
HAYS Property & Surveying NI is working in collaboration with a progressive and well-established multidisciplinary consultancy known for delivering high-quality cost management and project delivery services across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and public‑sector developments. The organisation is expanding within Northern Ireland and is seeking Senior and Assistant Quantity Surveyor positions for its Belfast office.
Current and recent commissions include:
- A new hotel development (approx. £13m) – Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor
- A new city‑centre hotel project (£12-£20m) – Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor
- A new aparthotel development (approx. £18m) – Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor
- A new hospitality project incorporating guest rooms (≈£3m) – Project Manager
- A regeneration and refurbishment project for a private client (≈£4m) – Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor
Responsibilities
Support and lead cost management services across a diverse portfolio of construction projects, from feasibility through procurement, contract administration, cost control and final account delivery. Prepare accurate cost plans, conduct measurement and BOQs, advise on procurement strategies, ensure robust financial management across project stages. Liaise with clients, design teams and contractors, providing commercially astute guidance to drive best‑value outcomes. Depending on experience, take full responsibility for projects or work closely with senior colleagues on more complex schemes, with structured support available to build confidence and progress towards senior‑level duties.
Qualifications
Solid experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or built‑environment sector, ideally within a consultancy setting (contractor‑side experience considered). Good understanding of cost planning, tender processes, contract administration and financial reporting; ability to manage deadlines and work methodically across several live projects. Strong communication skills required. Professional accreditation such as RICS chartership, or progress toward it, would be highly advantageous. Driven, detail‑oriented, commercially minded, confident to represent the consultancy professionally and contribute to client relationships.
