Beckfoot Thornton is seeking a committed and caring Behaviour Support Worker to join the team from February 2026 on a long-term or short-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Support Worker who has experience supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, and learning of pupils, particularly vulnerable learners within a welcoming and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils' wellbeing, behaviour, and attitude to learning
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals
- Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with school life
- Promote inclusion, independence, and positive values in pupils
- Track and monitor behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns
- Make welfare calls and support strategies to improve attendance and punctuality
- Assist with lesson planning, pastoral care, and behaviour management
- Organise and support extracurricular and enrichment activities
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider school environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education
- Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Excellent communication skills and a supportive, proactive approach
- A team player with resilience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people thrive
