We are currently working with a well‑established civil engineering consultancy that is seeking to appoint a Principal Civil Engineer/Associate Director to join its growing Bath office. This business operates predominantly within the residential development sector, delivering infrastructure solutions for housing schemes across the UK. Role
- Lead the design and delivery of residential infrastructure projects from feasibility through to technical approval and construction.
- The role will also involve client liaison, mentoring junior engineers and supporting the continued growth of the Bath office.
- Lead the design and delivery of highways, drainage and earthworks for residential developments.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations and technical reports.
- Manage projects through planning, detailed design and construction stages.
- Liaise with local authorities, clients, architects and external consultants.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
- Assist with client management and business development activities.
Requirements
- Significant experience within a civil engineering consultancy environment.
- Strong residential development experience.
- Excellent knowledge of:
- Plot levels
- Highway design
- Surface and foul water drainage design
- Proficient in:
- Flow / MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
- Civil 3D or Site 3D
- Experience managing projects and leading teams.
- Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership preferred.
