White Label is hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an established engineering business in Barnsley. This role would suit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer wanting to be involved in large-scale engineering projects from cradle to grave with the focus being on design and calculations.
The role will include the production of conceptual designs, supported by relevant calculations and analysis, throughout the process of the production of detailed manufacturing drawings. You would work on design projects from tender stage through to manufacture, installation and commissioning of the equipment, liaising with other engineers, shop floor staff and customers throughout the project.
My client is offering a salary of 50,000 - 55,000 plus:
- 33 days holiday (including stats)
- 37-hour work week with 1 PM finish on Friday
- Flexible start/finish times

Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Working on bespoke mechanical engineering projects from concept through to manufacture.
- Producing detailed designs and calculations for medium to heavy engineering equipment.
- Using Autodesk Inventor (other CAD packages considered) to develop solutions.
- Supporting site teams and projects with technical input when needed.
- Collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Experience required of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
- 8 years' experience in a mechanical design role.
- Experienced in leading projects from concept to completion.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) preferred.
- HNC/HND qualified candidates also considered.
- Experience in medium-heavy engineering would be desirable.
- 3D CAD experience (ideally Inventor) but can consider other software.
