We are a leading engineering company specialising in the distribution and manufacture of Seals, Gaskets and Fasteners, and we are seeking a Procurement Executive / Buyer to join our team.

About the Role

We are seeking an organised, commercially minded Purchasing Executive / Buyer to join our team, specialising in the procurement of Seals, Gaskets, Fasteners, and other engineered parts. This role is ideal for someone who understands the demands of technical manufacturing environments and can confidently manage suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure effective communication and on‑time delivery of parts and materials. Experience within the engineering industry would be highly beneficial and will help you hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities for seals, gaskets, fasteners, machined parts, and other engineered components
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing
  • Negotiate terms, contracts, and cost‑saving opportunities
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, lead times, and inventory levels
  • Work closely with Sales, Quality and Warehouse teams to ensure efficient procedures
  • Monitor KPIs and supplier performance and address issues promptly
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and reduce costs

About You

  • Experience in a Procurement role
  • Background in seals, gaskets, fasteners, industrial components, or engineering supply chains is a strong advantage but not essential
  • Confident negotiating with suppliers globally and managing commercial relationships
  • Comfortable interpreting technical drawings/specifications is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive, analytical, and solutions‑focused
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
  • Must be within commutable distance to the role location
