Client: My client is a Tier 1 M&E contractor specialising in several sectors including Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Data Centre and Petrochemical. The business has seen significant growth in the last 5 years. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principles, the business expects the next two years to be a similar period of growth. After a successful year, they now sit at an international turnover of over £300m.
Role: Mechanical Supervisor - Surrey - £280-£320 per day (DoE). Reporting to a Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £50m (M&E value) project. Projects are typically new build commercial office shell and core, infrastructure upgrades or datacentres. Key to this role is managing the project at site level; ensuring it is completed on time, to a high quality and within budget.
Duties include:
- Management of sub-contractors and labour
- Client liaison and attendance at site meetings
- Progress Reporting
- Responsible for all health & safety at site level including the preparation and issuing of RAMS and toolbox talks where appropriate
- Weekly H&S Returns
- Project & programme implementation
- Understanding of design & drawings
- Continuous snagging to minimise defects & errors
- Work with the Project Manager to manage the commissioning process and handover of the project
The ideal candidate:
- Progressed from a tools background and has good technical knowledge of mechanical services
- Experience working in the commercial/laboratory sector(s)
- SSSTS/SMSTS Qualified
