Field Service Engineer Location: Ayrshire

Salary: £40,000 basic + overtime available + paid door to door + Company Van

Our client is a well-established and growing materials-handling business supporting customers across Scotland with industry-leading equipment. Unlike many field service roles, this position offers a genuinely supportive environment where engineers are trusted to manage their own day without constant micromanagement or unrealistic pressure.

You’ll work across a local territory with paid door-to-door travel, no weekend rota, and the backing of an experienced technical team. This is a long-term opportunity with a stable business that values good engineers and gives them the freedom to do what they do best.

The Role:

As part of the mobile engineering team, you’ll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing a range of forklifts, heavy equipment and specialist materials-handling machinery across customer sites in either Glasgow or Ayrshire. You’ll manage your own workload and schedule while building strong relationships with long-standing customers across your local patch.

We’re Interested in Engineers From Backgrounds Such As:

  • Agricultural Engineering
  • Plant Engineering
  • HGV / Truck Mechanics
  • Hydraulics
  • Forklift Engineering
  • Heavy Equipment / Construction Machinery

Full product training can be provided for engineers coming from transferable heavy mechanical backgrounds.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on hydraulics, engines, transmissions, braking systems and electrics
  • Comfortable working independently in a mobile role
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
