The Role
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will take ownership of a specialist manufacturing team, driving performance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across a fast‑paced production area. You will play a key role in optimising processes, reducing downtime, and ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and to target.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Drive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance across the department
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Lead production readiness activities, minimising downtime and improving start‑up performance
- Analyse process performance data and implement improvements to achieve KPIs
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams to resolve production issues and improve right‑first‑time performance
- Ensure all process documentation, audits, and standard work instructions are maintained to a high standard
- Coach and mentor team members, supporting professional development
- Support new product introduction, launches, and process trials
- Lead problem‑solving activities using structured root cause analysis
What we are looking for
Essential
- Leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Background in die casting, injection moulding, automotive, or automated/robotic production
- Experience improving process performance and driving continuous improvement
- Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to lead and influence teams
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable
- Tier 1 automotive experience
- Knowledge of robotics (e.g., ABB), pneumatics, hydraulics, or electrics
- Experience with PFMEA, audits, or standard work
