Overview

Freight Force Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a growing and forward‑thinking transport business specialising in sustainable logistics and waste transportation solutions across the UK. The company operates a modern fleet and provides reliable haulage services including walking floor, bulk tanker, curtain sider, low loader, and ejector trailer operations. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Walking Floor Tramper Driver to join our professional driving team based in Leicester.

The Role

This is a tramping position involving nationwide deliveries and collections using walking floor trailers. Drivers will be responsible for transporting bulk materials safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of professionalism, compliance, and customer service. The successful candidate will be expected to work Monday to Friday with regular nights out throughout the week. Drivers will represent the company professionally at customer sites and ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating HGV Class 1 walking floor vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out nationwide collections and deliveries
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly
  • Ensuring compliance with driver hours, WTD regulations, and company procedures
  • Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and digital records
  • Providing excellent customer service at all delivery and collection points
  • Keeping vehicles clean, presentable, and roadworthy at all times
  • Adhering to all health & safety and site‑specific regulations

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
  • Valid CPC Qualification Card
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous walking floor experience is preferred
  • Maximum of 3 penalty points on licence
  • Strong understanding of driver hours and transport legislation
  • Reliable, professional, and safety‑conscious attitude
  • Good communication and time management skills
