This market leading, fast paced dynamic heavy machinery manufacturer is experiencing continued growth & expansion, and is looking to hire a Technical Author to join a rapidly growing team to produce materials for the end user.
You will be responsible for producing documentation for equipment & machinery including operator manuals, spare parts manuals, service & maintenance manuals and training documentation. They operate throughout Europe & are continually moving into new territories, so the role will also involve working with external translation agencies to translate materials into various European languages.
The Role:- Producing documentation for machinery including operator manuals, spare parts manuals, service & maintenance manuals and training documentation.
- Writing instructions and step by step guides that will easily be understood and followed.
- Researching and familiarising relevant health and safety requirements and standards for operation of the machinery.
- Assisting in the building of machinery at the prototype stage in order to write service and maintenance manuals.
- Manipulating CAD files and working with exploded drawings to create user guides and spare parts diagrams.
- Previous experience in a similar role with the ability to produce clear and concise instructions that conform with company documentation standards.
- Ability to convey complex information accurately and simply.
- Experience in producing technical guides and support guidelines or extensive experience in technical authoring roles.
- High degree of attention to detail, good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work.
- Self‑motivated, friendly and professional with the ability to communicate effectively.
The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set and will be decided by our client, the employer.
