Role

As Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, monthly reporting, and providing commercial insight to senior management. You will also lead a team of two Finance Assistants and play a key part in driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weekly: Maintain the purchase ledger and produce weekly creditors and bank reconciliation reports
  • Process Accounts Payable invoices, ensuring accurate project allocation
  • Update weekly Financial and Non-Financial KPI trackers and present them at group level
  • Line management of two Finance Assistants
  • Monthly: Download and process sales invoices
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts
  • Complete and present full month-end accounts (including stock journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets) at group level
  • Deliver monthly/YTD P&L and EBITDA analysis with clear variance commentary
  • Update, distribute, and present monthly KPIs
  • Run payroll via Sage 50 Payroll, including FPS/NEST submissions and handling queries
  • Prepare cash flow and sales forecasts
  • Manage order book reporting using quotation and live order data
  • Complete ONS surveys and statutory returns as required
  • Ad Hoc: Provide analytical and financial reporting support to management
  • Liaise with external accountants to ensure accurate statutory submissions
  • Support the development of the group reporting function as new requirements emerge
  • Carry out any reasonable duties required by the company or group

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll
  • High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including data cleaning and transformation
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work proactively and independently, managing deadlines confidently
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams and with external accountants
