A leading homelessness support provider in Oxfordshire is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Bicester. This is a frontline role within a supported accommodation service, working with individuals experiencing homelessness and complex needs. The service focuses on providing structured support to help residents stabilise their lives and progress towards independent living. You will be working on a lone working basis within the service each day, taking responsibility for delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day support within a supported accommodation service
  • Work independently (lone working) while ensuring a safe and structured environment
  • Carry out key working sessions and develop personalised support plans
  • Support residents with complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, and housing instability
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Support residents to access relevant services, benefits, and external support agencies
  • Promote independence and assist individuals in working towards move‑on accommodation
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes using internal systems
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and incidents
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents and external agencies
  • Ensure the service remains safe, clean, and compliant with policies and procedures

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience working within homelessness, supported housing, or adult social care
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs (mental health, substance misuse, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently in a lone working environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and situations calmly

Desirable

  • Experience in supported accommodation or hostel environments
  • Knowledge of housing pathways and move‑on support
  • Experience key working in a structured support setting
