We are looking for a skilled Heavy Plant Engineer to join a friendly and busy engineering team based in Bicester. This is a hands-on role working on concrete pumps and associated heavy plant equipment. You will be involved in servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, with most work based at the Bicester workshop and occasional travel to customer sites for breakdowns or support.
This role could suit a Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Hydraulic Engineer, Service Engineer or someone with experience working on construction plant, agricultural machinery, HGVs, powered access or similar heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on heavy plant equipment, including truck-mounted and static concrete pumps
- Complete routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Prepare and inspect equipment before delivery or dispatch
- Attend customer site breakdowns when required
- Work on hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
- Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety standards
- Support the wider workshop and engineering team when required
- Experience working with heavy plant, hydraulics, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, HGVs or similar
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Good mechanical knowledge, with basic electrical understanding
- Experience working on hydraulic systems
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A practical, reliable and safety-focused approach
