We are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Senior / Client Manager to join our client, a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy firm based in Clackmannanshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing their own portfolio, and supporting junior team members. Responsibilities in your new role as Client Manager:

As an Accounts Senior / Client Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of SME clients, acting as their main point of contact for day-to-day accounting and financial support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
  • Managing VAT returns and bookkeeping activities
  • Supporting clients with financial and business queries
  • Building strong long-term client relationships
  • Ensuring client records are accurate and fully up to date
  • Liaising with outsourcing partners to coordinate workflow
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional value-added services
  • Working collaboratively with the wider practice team

You will work with a varied client base across multiple sectors, making this a diverse and engaging role where no two days are the same.

Your personality, experience and qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment. We are looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of 3 years accountancy practice experience
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and bookkeeping
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and organised approach to workload management
  • The confidence to work independently and take ownership
  • Experience using Xero, QuickBooks, or similar cloud accounting software

Formal qualifications are welcome but not essential; our client is focused on practical experience, strong technical ability, and the right attitude.
