Location: Cilfynydd 400kV Substation, Wales

Start Date: 25/05/2026

End Date: 30/10/2026

Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (45 Hours Per Week)

Rate: 400 Per Day

Contract Type: Temporary

IR35 Status: Inside IR35 - Limited Company Not Permitted

We are currently seeking multiple experienced Resident Engineers / Civil Site Engineers for a major National Grid 400kV substation project in Cilfynydd. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long‑term National Grid infrastructure project working within a live transmission environment.

Candidates must have previous National Grid substation experience and hold current NG Persons authorisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting out line and level using various surveying equipment
  • Assisting with constructability reviews alongside the civil site team
  • Raising Technical Queries (TQs)
  • Acting as Document Controller for all civil drawings
  • Assisting the site team with obtaining quotes and raising orders
  • Completing and managing As Built drawings
  • Supporting day-to-day site engineering activities on a live National Grid project
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working on National Grid substation projects
  • Current NG Persons authorisation
  • Manual Handling certification
  • Strong setting out experience using surveying equipment
  • Knowledge of National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
  • Ability to manage civil drawing control and technical documentation
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
