Location: Primary School Setting in PR5

Start Date: September 2026

Pay Rate: 14.24 - 15.67 per hour

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis within a mainstream primary school starting in September 2026. This rewarding role involves supporting a child with global learning delay as they transition from a nursery setting into mainstream education. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child settle into school routines, access learning opportunities, and develop socially and emotionally within the classroom environment. The position will begin on a part-time timetable to support a gradual transition into school, with the expectation of increasing to full-time hours once the child is fully settled.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated support throughout the school day
  • Assist the child in accessing EYFS learning activities
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and outside professionals
  • Build positive relationships with parents and school staff
  • Support with personal care where required
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children within EYFS or SEN settings
  • Experience working with children with additional needs or developmental delays
  • A calm, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Confidence supporting personal care needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
