CIS Security has an exciting opportunity for a Security Response Officer to act as a professional ambassador for the company at the West Country’s premier shopping destination. The site features over 70 leading high street brands and a multi-storey car park with more than 1,200 spaces. It is centrally located, approximately a 10‑minute walk from Plymouth train station, with The Barcode leisure complex situated adjacent, offering a cinema, restaurants, bars, and indoor entertainment venues.

The successful candidate will be expected to consistently deliver high standards of security, professionalism, and customer service to clients, visitors, and all site users.

Position: Security Response Officer
Location: Plymouth (PL1)
Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour
Hours: Average 24 hours per week
Shifts: Various Shifts – Days, Nights & Weekends

Job Requirements:

  • SIA Licence required
  • Security and customer service experience is required
  • Must be flexible and be able to work days, nights, weekends and adapt to shift changes due to operational needs
  • Must have good command of the English language
  • Good levels of customer service, communication both written & verbal at all times
  • Flexible approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site
  • Maintains working knowledge of security & safety for assigned areas
  • Flexible in the approach to daily duties – retail, long periods of standing, patrolling, access control
  • First Aid qualification & a CCTV SIA Licence is a bonus
  • To have a smart appearance befitting the company
  • Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties
  • Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested

Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both customers and service users.
  • Able to work in a team as well as on your own and have the ability to be pro‑active and think on your feet using initiative
  • Be calm under pressure and confident in dealing with confrontational situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Physically fit to complete patrols internally and externally and able to stand/walk during shift
  • Confident in writing incident and shift reports
  • To always portray a friendly, professional and courteous demeanour, using open and appropriate body language
  • To ensure that all visitors and staff are dealt with efficiently, providing an exceptional customer service and ensuring that their expectations are met, if not exceeded
  • Have the IT skills and the ability to understand and use varied Access Control and CCTV systems and platforms / integrated systems
  • Have the ability to write emails and reply to emails in the correct manner
  • Have the ability to exercise command and control and be an effective communicator to all peer groups and management levels
  • Able to understand the Escalation Process – Escalate and disseminate information in a timely manner to the correct personnel in the event or during an emergency or incident on site
  • The role includes conducting opening & closing procedures of a building, patrolling and conducting emergency procedures
