We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Company Froth and Mallow, a specialty coffee and dessert bar located near Wood Green, Turnpike Lane, Hornsey, and Alexandra Palace stations.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of one year of recent Barista experience is essential.
- Must have morning availability.
- Food safety and hygiene Level 2 is required; Level 3 is desired or can be completed upon acceptance of the offer.
- A natural talent for multitasking and a hard working attitude.
- Well-groomed presentation and high standards of personal hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of hot/cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt and high quality service.
- Deliver warm, friendly, and efficient service, and resolve customer issues discreetly.
- Assist customers with menu selections and answer queries.
- Handle cash/automated transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain the cleanliness of workstations, equipment (Sanremo F18 coffee machine, Mahlkonig E80 supreme, and Sanremo SR50 grinders), and customer areas in line with health and safety regulations.
- Restock supplies as needed and follow food preparation and portion control guidelines.
- Consistently maintain food safety and hygiene standards throughout all operations.
Shift Pattern
- Days: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 10:30 AM
- Saturday/Sunday: Approx. 11 AM – 3 PM
- Shift pattern alternates between 2–5 mornings.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is desirable.
- Basic food preparation skills for creating beverages and light snacks.
- Good basic math skills for handling accurate transactions.
- Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills.
Interview Process
The interview process will be in two parts. Candidates successful in the initial stage will be invited in‐store for a practical demonstration of their skills, which must include:
- Dialing in coffee.
- Coffee brewing and extraction techniques.
- Advanced milk texturing skills and latte art.
Contract & Pay
Zero hours part‐time. Pay: As per National Government recommendation and based upon the age of the employee.
