New opening in Walthamstow looking for full-time Baristas. One for the Table is a small independent cafe opening in April 2026, serving high-quality coffee, brunch, and cocktails just a short walk away from Walthamstow Central. We’re looking to hire some amazing baristas who are genuinely interested in quality food, coffee, and warm hospitality to help us build something special from day one.
This is an exciting opportunity to join and help shape our small team, building a fun and engaging environment. We truly care about hospitality, quality, and the well-being of our team, and we want to create a welcoming space for everyone – whether they’re grabbing their usual to-go or settling in for brunch. We’re looking for people with positive attitudes and who are naturally great communicators. Due to being a small team, you might be required to cover a variety of roles; we’re looking for real team players who’re comfortable explaining our food offering to customers and jumping on the cafe floor to help with service if needed.
Key Responsibilities- Open and/or close the café, including setup/pack-down.
- Dial in coffee daily and maintain consistency and quality.
- Assist with daily operations: stock control, ordering, scheduling, and cleanliness.
- Deliver warm, engaging, and knowledgeable customer service.
- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks and other beverages to a high standard.
- Take customer orders confidently, accurately, and efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with restocking and deliveries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and café floor.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and support colleagues during busy periods.
- Follow health, safety, and food hygiene standards at all times.
- Previous barista experience and confidence behind the machine.
- Proficiency in making espresso-based drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc.).
- Ability to dial in grinders and maintain consistency in shots.
- Passionate about great coffee, food, and service.
- Proactive and observant, with the initiative to spot what needs doing.
- Friendly, reliable, and positive energy.
- Great communication skills, making people feel welcome.
