Sunday Coffee Van Operator – East London Market

We’re Wake The Dead Coffee – a queer, female-owned specialty coffee company established in 2016. Operating from two iconic vintage Peugeot vans, we’ve carved out a strong presence in London’s coffee scene, serving premium speciality coffee with more friendliness and goodness than anyone around.

We’re looking for someone reliable, friendly, and organised to cover our Sunday coffee van from October.

This isn’t your standard barista shift – you’ll be trusted to manage the van for the day, work alongside one staff member, and keep everything running smoothly.

The role includes:

Collecting the van in the morning and driving it to the market pitch

Setting up the van and preparing stock (milk, ice, etc.)

Serving customers and managing the shift with one team member

Packing down and returning the van back to base at the end of the day

You’ll need:

A full UK driving licence (confidence driving a left hand van)

Some barista or hospitality experience (training available for the right person)

Reliability, good people skills, and the ability to run a smooth, well-organised day

Sundays: 7:30am – 4:30pm

A percentage-of-sales model with higher earning potential (£200+ per Sunday) once established and confident in the role

What’s in it for you:

An established brand with a loyal customer base and strong community vibe

Support and training until you’re fully confident in the role

Perfect for:Someone looking for consistent weekend work, extra income, and the freedom to run a day independently

If this sounds like you, send a short intro about your experience and why you’d be a good fit.
