Coffee Shop Supervisor - Social Enterprise

Coffee Shop Supervisor - Social Enterprise - 4day week - London Living Wage. Do you want to help us support young people who are facing barriers to employment, by offering them training, mentoring, and experience in the hospitality industry? Then this role is for you!

Position Information

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Feel Good Coffee Supervisor. Reporting to the Feel Good General Manager, this role will be responsible for supervising shifts and supporting the young people (aged 16-25) employed by us on the mobile coffee shop outlets and our shop, of which we currently have two active. Feel Good (feelgood-london.org) is a social enterprise set up by Regenerate (regenerate-london.org) in 2014 as part of our Employment service. The coffee business trains, employs and mentors young people aged 16-25 who are not in education employment or training (NEET), have experienced disadvantage or are at risk of exploitation. Also for every coffee sold we provide a meal for a child in one of our partner services in Africa or Eastern Europe. This is a position well suited to anyone who is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to thrive, ambitious about the future for both themselves and the collective community, and wants to work for a well connected local organisation who is fully supportive of all its staff's wellbeing and their goals.

OVERVIEW

Salary: £28,860 per annum full time salary.

Hours: Full time, 4x9hours shifts plus 4 hours admin work that can be done remotely.

Please note this role will require weekend work usually 2 weekends a month.

Training: Necessary training and induction for the role will be provided. Required Experience: At least 2 years working in a coffee shop environment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise a small team of young adults (Feel Good Team members and baristas) in the coffee cart/shop, ensure good team morale and effective production.
  • Liaise with Feel Good Development Manager to feedback team updates and development
  • Support team members' work on key learning objectives
  • Ensure that safeguarding policy is followed and all concerns reported to the managing director.
  • Calmly deal with any challenging team members, customers or situations that may arise.
  • Supervise procedures including food hygiene (HACCP) and chemical safety (COSH).
  • Ensure the outlet's cleanliness and hygiene standards are met, recorded and kept in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Carry out stock checks and keep accurate records.
  • Oversee product quality and carry out quality control checks to make sure standards are maintained.

  • 2 years experience working in a coffee cart shop environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to be flexible
  • Team player with ability to motivate yourself and others
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of the Hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of working with young people/the barriers they face
  • Supportive of the aims of Regenerate and Feel Good
  • A clear DBS (Checks provided by us on recruitment)
