About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong Neo4j Aura expertise to design, build, and operate scalable graph-based data platforms in the cloud. You will work on high-impact systems that leverage managed Neo4j AuraDB for real-time insights, relationships, and complex data modelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement graph data models using Neo4j AuraDB (Professional / Enterprise)
- Build and optimise Cypher queries for performance and scalability
- Integrate Neo4j Aura with cloud-native applications (REST, GraphQL, event-driven systems)
- Manage data ingestion pipelines (Kafka, Spark, ETL tools, APIs)
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot Neo4j Aura performance and availability
- Implement security, access control, and data governance best practices
- Collaborate with product, data, and backend teams to translate business problems into graph solutions
- Support production workloads with high availability and disaster recovery requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with Neo4j, specifically Neo4j Aura
- Expert knowledge of Cypher and graph data modelling
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Backend development experience (Java, Kotlin, Python, or Node.js)
- Understanding of distributed systems and database performance tuning
- Familiarity with CI/CD, containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Neo4j Certified Professional or Advanced Certification
- Experience with real-time analytics, fraud detection, recommendations, or network analysis
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, or Pulumi
- Exposure to event streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
- Prior experience with regulated industries (finance, telecom, healthcare)
