Unitech Blaymires Ltd are leading manufacturers of Metal Pressings, Laser Cutting, Fabrications and Coil Processing to a wide range of customers, manufacturing to high quality standards. Based in Lye, Stourbridge, as part of a restructure of the business, we have a fantastic new opportunity to recruit for a Tube Laser Machine Coordinator to complement our existing team.
Role Overview: Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating/operating the Bodor Tube laser cutting machine, in order to manufacture components to drawing specifications, utilizing materials and minimising waste.
Main duties will include:
- Perform daily machine start up and shutdown procedures on CNC cutting equipment.
- Have a clear understanding regarding the operational functions of the Tube Laser Machine.
- Coordinate & carry out minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacturers machine recommendations.
- Coordinate & perform machine alignments procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
- Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with ISO quality standards.
- Monitor and assist resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production.
- Adhere to the drawing / approved sample specifications in line with customers requirements, enabling quality products to be manufactured.
- Ensure that setting and operating machinery is adhered to in line with strict health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate & carry out quality checks and record the necessary data to enable clear traceability.
- Report any issues that may jeopardize quality standards.
- Assist with any other task as required in line with business needs and as required within your skill set and experience.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in carrying out costing analysis and providing a quotation in line with incoming enquiries.
- Experience of nesting programs in relation to CNC Laser Machines.
- Possess three or more years experience operating CO2 laser and/or CNC cutting machines.
- Be experienced on multiple brands of CNC machines such as Amada, Bystronic etc.
- Familiarity with software programming or have a good understanding will enable you to control and operate the Bodor Tube Laser Machine fully.
- Ability to read and where required formulate drawings, with a basic knowledge of Auto CAD/Solid Works.
- Be able to work on own initiative and be self-sufficient in all areas of responsibility.
- Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Work well as a team member and able to communicate effectively with other departments.
- Understand and support Company policies and procedures.
- Possess a flexible working attitude.
- Must pay attention to detail.
- Be used to using safe working practices.
- Flexible to cover basic office duties where possible during certain times in a month.
