The Role

Unite Students have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR / People Services Assistant to join our high-performing People Team in our Bristol office. We`ll consider both full-time and part-time applications.

The HR / People Services Assistant plays a key role in helping us deliver smarter, simpler and more self-serve People processes. The role ensures the smooth running of employee lifecycle activity, supports colleagues with clear information, and helps reduce avoidable contact by keeping our processes accurate, consistent and easy to use.

The role contributes to building manager confidence and accountability through clear, reliable guidance.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Keeping employee lifecycle processing accurate, timely and consistent
  • Ensuring pay-related data is right first time, recognising the real impact on colleagues
  • Monitoring and managing the shared inbox to reduce back-and-forth, prioritise well, and provide clear answers.
  • Creating reference letters and standard contracts, change and leaver letters.
  • Supporting line managers to follow people processes correctly so colleagues get answers sooner and without escalation.
  • Deliver accurate and timely compliance related processes - specifically DBS and Right to Work checks
  • Supporting smooth handoffs of data and processes between People Services, Payroll and People Partnering
  • Ensuring filing and data management meets GDPR requirements, helping us stay on point and avoid rework
  • Helping reduce easy-to-answer queries through accurate processing, helpful documentation and tidy workflows
  • Following streamlined processes consistently so that automation works properly and colleagues get a smoother experience
