Our growing Capital Projects team are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join us at an incredibly exciting time for Unite Students. Capital Projects are key to supporting the growth, sustainability, and operational needs of Unite Students by investing in the physical infrastructure and facilities of our estate. The purpose of the role is to provide support to all Capital Projects to include Asset Management Initiatives (refurbishments), building lifecycle, defensive, fabric, technical, fire safety, energy and environment, security and special projects. Working alongside operations, estates, procurement, contractors and key suppliers, you will play an active role in the overall Capital projects strategy. This role will be responsible for forging strong relationships with stakeholders, who will principally be the operations teams, and key business sponsors of different workstreams from around the business. It’s also vital that strong working relationships with key contractors are created and maintained.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver a range of different scale and types of projects, to include refurbishments, cladding, heating upgrades, block doors, roofs, windows etc (include project plan tracking, VO tracking and approving, risk register, full snagging and de-snagging)
- Deliver the asset management initiative strategy, (include project plan tracking, VO tracking and approving, customer communications, risk register, full snagging and de-snagging)
- Assist with developing scopes for projects assigned to the project manager for delivery
- Deliver Health and Safety to ensure fully compliant sites and appropriate recording of accidents
- Ensure all pre-start and mobilisation meetings are conducted
- Ensure all site visits are conducted to agreed schedule
- Achieve any targets and KPIs agreed with line manager
What We’re Looking for in You
- Experience in Project Management in the construction industry
- Good working knowledge of building construction, mechanical and electrical installations
- Demonstrable experience and success in managing complex projects from inception to completion, delivering works whilst in a live environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Experience of managing within budgetary constraints
- Ability to manage in a cross functional environment
