Our fantastic Finance team are looking for an experienced Consolidation Reporting Accountant to join the team in Bristol. Sitting within the Group Reporting Team, you will be responsible for leading in the Group's compliance with group and entity level statutory reporting requirements, liaising with the external audit team and supporting the wider business in relation to specific queries and information.
This role will predominantly focus on producing the entity level reporting for 300+ companies within the Group, which includes the annual financial statements, quarterly bank reporting and ad hoc regulatory/compliance requests. The role will also focus on the year end on the group financial statements and associated disclosures, working with senior management leadership team to produce the finance statements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading in the production of the monthly IFRS consolidation, EPRA balance sheet, EPRA earnings statement and EPRA NTA reconciliation for inclusion in the board pack.
- Taking a proactive role in the preparation of the financial statements for inclusion in the annual and interim reports.
- Liaising with senior management, the wider finance function, auditors, communications team and printers.
- Being a key contact within the Group Reporting Team for the external audit of the entity financial statements.
- Oracle GL superuser - responsible for maintenance of the chart of accounts and cross validation rules, User acceptance testing as and when required for upgrades and other changes.
- Maintaining an overview of individual entity reserves for distributions up the group structure.
- Leading the production of 300+ sets of financial statements, all to be completed to a high standard and within statutory deadlines.
- Updating statutory reporting process and approach to comply with latest UK GAAP reporting regulations and preparing management papers on key accounting policies and relevant changes required.
- Preparing quarterly bank reporting for Unite wholly owned debt facilities.
- Preparing the periodic surveys and reports required for the Office for National Statistics.
- User acceptance testing as and when required for upgrades and other changes to finance systems.
- Working with the Company Secretarial team, Tax and Legal teams to support the Group's corporate simplification programme.
- Working with the Treasury team on quarterly bank reporting requests and accounting for debt restructuring in Oracle.
- Modelling a keen focus on accuracy, integrity and financial control within the finance function whilst maintaining a positive attitude to change and supporting business needs.
- Continuous improvement of the processes and controls surrounding the annual accounts production cycle.
- Support the Group Reporting Team with month end reporting and ad hoc projects as required.
- Supporting the wider business/finance function with any requests/support for information at a legal entity level.
What We’re Looking for in You
- Qualified finance professional ACA/ACCA/CIMA with accounts production experience.
- Experience dealing with different types of entity and complex group structures.
- Up to date technical accounting knowledge with experience of using this in reporting and a desire to keep abreast of current practice and legislative changes.
- Excellent IT skills including advanced MS Excel Skills.
- Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, with the ability to work at pace whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
- An ability to communicate with individuals at various levels across the business and externally and develop good working relationships.
- Experience of working with Oracle is desirable, as is some experience using accounts production software, such as CCH.
