Join a business that helps students take their next big step - and shape yours at the same time. We’re looking for a high-energy, commercially minded Sales Executive to drive occupancy across our student accommodation. If you love converting interest into signed deals, thrive in a target environment, and enjoy meeting new people every day, this is for you. Our sales cycle is human. Behind every enquiry is a student with ambitions, anxieties and choices to make. We sell more than rooms; we sell belonging, community and possibility. That requires pace and commercial focus but also care and trust.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving new leads and enquiries through proactive outreach (open days, student fairs, events & digital channels)
  • Converting enquiries into viewings, and viewings into bookings
  • Delivering compelling tours that help students feel at home before they’ve even moved in
  • Handling objections with confidence and empathy
  • Encouraging existing residents to rebook for next year through tailored offers and events
  • Keeping a tight sales pipeline: fast follow-up, disciplined CRM usage, and strong closing conversations
  • Achieving occupancy and revenue targets across multiple properties
  • Staying sharp on competitor activity, pricing and market trends
  • Winning in a competitive market by staying sharp on pricing & offers

What you’ll bring:

  • Has proven sales experience (B2B or B2C): recruitment sales, mobile/tech, hospitality, property or business development
  • Hungry for targets, recognition and commission
  • Thrives in a sales buzz with seasonal peaks
  • Competitive but always values-led and customer-focused
  • Loves solving objections and closing conversations
  • Has strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Enjoys meeting people and building relationships
  • Is organised, proactive and self-motivated

How to prepare for a job interview at Unite Students

✨Know Your Product Inside Out

Before the interview, make sure you understand the student accommodation market and what makes your potential employer stand out. Familiarise yourself with their properties, pricing, and unique selling points. This will help you answer questions confidently and show that you're genuinely interested in the role.

✨Showcase Your Sales Skills

Prepare to discuss specific examples of how you've successfully converted leads into sales in the past. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Highlight your ability to handle objections and close deals, as these are crucial skills for a Sales Executive.

✨Demonstrate Empathy and Care

Since the role involves working closely with students, it's important to convey your understanding of their needs and anxieties. Be ready to share experiences where you've built trust and rapport with clients. This will show that you can sell not just rooms, but also a sense of belonging and community.

✨Ask Insightful Questions

At the end of the interview, have a few thoughtful questions prepared. Inquire about the company's approach to customer service, how they support their sales team, or what success looks like in this role. This demonstrates your enthusiasm and helps you assess if the company is the right fit for you.
