Design Manager – Construction Location: Surrey Job type: Permanent Unite People are recruiting a Design Manager to oversee design coordination on a major construction project in Surrey. Working closely with the project delivery team, consultants and subcontractors, you will manage the design process to ensure information is coordinated, buildable and issued in line with the construction programme. Key responsibilities: * Manage and coordinate architectural, structural, civil and M&E design information. * Lead design meetings and track actions through to completion. * Review designs for buildability, compliance and potential clashes. * Manage design programmes, technical submissions, RFIs and approvals. * Coordinate specialist subcontractor designs with the wider scheme. * Identify design risks and resolve technical issues with the project team. * Monitor design changes and their impact on cost and programme. Requirements: * Previous experience as a Design Manager within construction. * Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination. * Experience working closely with site teams, external consultants and specialist subcontractors. * Ability to manage competing deadlines and drive timely design decisions. * Relevant construction, engineering or architectural qualification, or equivalent experience.
