We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK. The successful candidate will initially be based on a major infrastructure project in West Yorkshire, with future opportunities to work across a diverse portfolio of highways, public realm, structures and wider civil engineering schemes.

The Role

As Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of site activities, ensuring works are completed to programme, specification and the highest safety standards. Working closely with the Site Agent, General Foreman and Engineering team, you will coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors while maintaining excellent relationships with the client and wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day site operations across multiple work fronts.
  • Coordinate direct labour, subcontractors, plant and materials.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, in accordance with approved RAMS and company procedures.
  • Carry out site inspections and maintain high standards of quality throughout construction.
  • Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks and workforce inductions.
  • Monitor programme progress and proactively resolve site issues.
  • Liaise with Engineers, Site Management, commercial teams and client representatives.
  • Maintain accurate site records, permits and health & safety documentation.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example on site.

  • Highway improvements and junction upgrades.
  • Bridge and structural works.
  • Drainage and utilities installations.
  • Earthworks and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Public realm and infrastructure developments.
  • Large-scale transport and civil engineering projects.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, General Foreman or Works Supervisor within civil engineering.
  • Strong background delivering highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work activities.
  • Able to read drawings, specifications and construction programmes.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate site teams.

Qualifications

  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • CSCS Gold or Black Card (or working towards).
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
