Freelance Site Engineer – Roads / Civils 📍 Hull 💼 Freelance (Ltd or CIS) 📅 6 Months 💷 Competitive Day Rate 🏗️ Roads / Civil Engineering We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a road infrastructure project in the Hull area. Working for an established civil engineering contractor, you will support the delivery of a highways scheme incorporating earthworks, drainage and associated road construction works. This is a site-based position suited to an engineer with a strong civil engineering background who is comfortable taking responsibility for setting out, QA and technical delivery on site. Key Responsibilities • Setting out and surveying works across the project. • Setting out for earthworks, drainage, kerbing and associated road construction works. • Managing QA documentation, ITPs and as-built records. • Carrying out level surveys and producing accurate site records. • Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements. • Liaising with site management, subcontractors and client representatives. • Monitoring quality standards and supporting the safe delivery of works. • Identifying and resolving technical or setting-out issues on site. • Supporting the planning and coordination of daily site activities. Requirements • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on roads, highways or civil engineering projects. • Strong setting-out experience across earthworks and drainage packages. • Competent using GPS, total station and associated surveying equipment. • Good understanding of QA processes and construction documentation. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. • CSCS card. • Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent experience. • Able to work independently and manage engineering requirements across assigned sections of works.
