General Foreman – Water / Wastewater 📍 Chester, Cheshire (site-based – North West contractor) 💷 £55,000 – £65,000 DOE + package 🚧 Long-term water sector framework work A well-established civil engineering contractor operating across the North West is looking to appoint an experienced General Foreman to support delivery of water and wastewater upgrade works on a long-term, secured framework. The business has a strong presence within the water sector, delivering complex upgrade works to live treatment assets. This is a site-based role in Chester, offering stability, continuity of work, and the opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of technically challenging schemes. The Role Reporting to the Project Manager and Site Management team, you will be responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme, including: * Supervising site gangs, subcontractors and plant * Coordinating daily works and short-term planning * Ensuring works are carried out in line with RAMS, permits and HSEQ requirements * Managing labour, materials and plant on site * Supporting programme delivery and resolving site issues * Liaising with engineers, site management and client representatives * Maintaining quality standards across all works Project Scope * Water and wastewater treatment works upgrades * Civils works within live operational environments * Mechanical and electrical interface works * Associated infrastructure and enabling works About You * Proven experience working as a General Foreman within the water or utilities sector * Strong background delivering water or wastewater treatment works * Experience working within live treatment works or operational assets * Confident supervising multiple work fronts and site teams * Strong safety leadership and communication skills * Previous experience working on United Utilities projects is highly desirable Tickets / Qualifications * SSSTS or SMSTS * CSCS * First Aid What’s on Offer * £55,000 – £65,000 basic salary (DOE) * Competitive package (vehicle or allowance, pension, etc.) * Long-term, secured workload within the water sector * Site-based role in Chester with a North West regional contractor * Stable position within a reputable and growing business
