An experienced Freelance General Foreman is required for ongoing bridge and viaduct repair / replacement works across Yorkshire. The role will involve supervising structural maintenance and heavy civils packages on highways infrastructure schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. This opportunity is ideally suited to someone with a strong background delivering bridge refurbishment, structural repairs and highways civils works within live or challenging environments.

Scope of Works

  • Supervising bridge and viaduct repair / replacement projects
  • Managing expansion joint replacement works
  • Overseeing bearing replacement and waterproofing packages
  • Supervising concrete repairs and structural refurbishment works
  • Coordinating subcontractors, labour and daily site activities
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
  • Supporting delivery teams with planning and sequencing of works
  • Managing site paperwork, permits and daily briefings
  • Monitoring productivity, quality and health & safety compliance
  • Liaising with Engineers, Site Agents and project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a General Foreman on highways or major civils infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in bridge, viaduct or structural repair works
  • Experience supervising structural refurbishment and maintenance packages
  • Good understanding of temporary works, sequencing and safe delivery practices
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid preferred
  • Strong leadership and site coordination capability
  • Excellent communication and health & safety awareness
