Overview

Working hours: 17 hours, working 2 days out of 7 from Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 10pm and 7am.

As a Student Safety Team Member, you’ll play a key part in keeping our students and buildings safe, comfortable, and welcoming throughout the night. You’ll be the reassuring presence that helps students feel supported, cared for, and at home. You’ll work closely with the Student Safety Team Leader and your peers across the cluster, making a real impact every day. Every shift brings something different – from doing safety patrols and updating Excel handovers, to responding to emails or supporting a student who needs help in the early hours. It’s a role where you’ll stay calm under pressure, connect with people, and make a real difference every night.

  • Be a friendly face and first point of contact for students who need support or reassurance overnight.
  • Keep our buildings and everyone in them safe, responding calmly to incidents or emergencies such as fire alarms, noise complaints, or maintenance issues.
  • Help students feel welcome, respected, and cared for – always treating everyone with empathy and professionalism.
  • Work closely with day and night teams to ensure seamless service and handovers.
  • Take pride in maintaining tidy, safe, and well-kept spaces.
  • Support wellbeing or welfare matters, noticing when something isn’t right and taking action to help.
  • Be a brand ambassador, living our CARE principles: Connect, Act, Respect, and Encourage.
