As a Night Operations Supervisor, you will take the lead during night shifts, ensuring our student accommodation property remains safe, secure and well managed. You will oversee operational delivery overnight, lead the team on shift, and act as the key escalation point for incidents and resident needs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will make decisions, coordinate responses, and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for residents. Working closely with the wider property team, you will ensure seamless handovers between shifts and maintain a safe, supportive environment where residents feel comfortable and secure.

Your impact

Whilst no two days are the same at Unite Students, here's a flavour of what you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Lead night operations, ensuring the property remains safe, secure, and well maintained throughout your shift.
  • Supervise and support the night team, providing clear direction and maintaining high service standards.
  • Act as the main escalation point for incidents, making decisions and leading responses to operational or safety issues.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents, coordinating effective resolution and ensuring all actions are recorded.
  • Carry out safety checks and compliance audits, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Monitor property standards, ensuring communal areas remain clean, safe and welcoming.
  • Manage team rotas and attendance, ensuring appropriate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee contractor access and activity on site, ensuring work is carried out safely.
  • Maintain clear communication with the day team, ensuring effective handovers and continuity of operations.
  • Support residents with queries or concerns, ensuring they feel safe and supported.

Your background

You don't need to follow a traditional path - what matters most is your ability to lead people, make decisions and respond confidently to operational challenges. To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience in a customer service, hospitality, property or operational environment.
  • Have experience supporting or supervising teams.
  • Be confident managing incidents and operational issues, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Be organised, proactive and comfortable making decisions during operational shifts.
  • Have strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working in property, residential or hospitality environments would be beneficial.
