What success looks like in this role:
As part of our Managed Applications Services, we provide day-to-day support for applications running in a mission-critical environment on a 24×7 basis. We are looking for an individual to join our team that provides support and development to our Command and Control services. In particular, this would focus on the testing of these applications. The role would include providing day-to-day support of the teams providing the existing services and software enhancements as defined by our client. You will see yourself:
- Working closely with the team to understand business requirements, understanding how this translates into the technical solution and providing guidance and estimates on the testing required.
- Developing, maintaining and executing test scripts across multiple applications to estimates.
- Performing automation, functional and non-functional tests as part of software development lifecycles including Agile or Waterfall (sequential and incremental).
- Identifying and communicating potential defects, such as where a change has diverged from the expected result.
- Working within a close-knit team to maintain high standards of testing and continue to improve outcomes.
- Making use of your experience of test automation.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
The main skills that we require for this role would be experience of testing within an Application Support environment, ideally with experience of the full software development lifecycle and how this applies to the testing of software. You will likely hold testing certifications such as ISTQB.
Over and above the technical requirements for this role, we would expect the individual to be able to apply technical expertise within a service delivery environment and be comfortable to develop technical solutions without adversely impacting the operational effectiveness of the supported systems. You may have a good understanding of ITIL which provides you with the framework to achieving this.
Strong interpersonal skills are expected as you will be communicating regularly with our client. Any previous experience within Public Sector organisations would be welcomed.
Candidates must be eligible for, and will be required to obtain, CTC clearance for this post.
