Interior Designer
Location: London
Summary Our London studio is looking to add an Interior Designer to our growing team. As an Interior Designer, you will play a vital role in providing commercial workplace solutions for our clients, from initial concept through to project completion. You will be instrumental in developing high-quality designs for pitches and tenders, coordinating project consultants, and ensuring the delivery of inspiring workplaces that align with Unispace’s global standards and innovative design philosophy.
Key Responsibilities (Include but not limited to):
- Design & Documentation: Deliver comprehensive interior design packages including material selection, finishes, and detailed joinery documentation.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of budgets and BOQs, managing self to profitability targets and supporting the management of fees and proposals.
- Strategic Support: Support senior leaders and Principals on project briefs and conduct design reviews at key project milestones.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with Delivery teams to ensure financial outcomes are met and work across disciplines and regions to drive studio initiatives.
- Design Innovation: Continually enhance the depth and breadth of design skills, staying current with external market trends to improve studio design operations.
- Brand & Culture Alignment: Ensure all design solutions and professional behaviors align seamlessly with the culture, values, and brand of Unispace.
- Operational Improvement: Collaborate with Directors and Principals to develop and implement operational improvements within the design team.
About You:
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of professional design experience, specifically within the commercial/workplace design sector, backed by an impressive portfolio.
- Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Revit is essential. You must also be proficient in using design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
- Educational Background: Tertiary qualification or equivalent in an Interior Design or design-related discipline.
- Client Skills: Comfortable and confident in client-facing environments with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Project Management: Ability to help deliver multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines; experience with resource management is a plus.
- Local Expertise: Strong knowledge of local building codes and best method procurement; professional license or certification is preferred.
- Adaptability: You are comfortable with change and ambiguity—seeing them as opportunities to innovate rather than barriers to achievement.
- Collaboration: A team player who enjoys collaborating across global regions and studios to enhance design outcomes.
