Overview
In this role, you will support recruitment and organising initiatives across the West Midlands, working with branches and activists to strengthen workplace representation. You will assist casework, train workplace representatives, and contribute to branch communications and campaigns. The position is funded for a time-limited school-focused project with potential future allocation to other regions or topics. You will travel to workplaces, training events, and the regional office as needed, helping UNISON reflect the public sector and diverse communities in its membership.
Responsibilities
- Build recruitment and organising initiatives with branch networks
- Support casework and develop/training of workplace representatives
- Assist branch communications and campaigns
- Collaborate with activists and colleagues to reflect UNISON values and objectives
Key requirements
- Experience in a trade union, political, or community organisation is desirable but transferable skills are welcome
- Understanding of UNISON values and objectives
- Willingness and ability to travel across the West Midlands and occasionally to London for training
