The predicted salary is between 38233 - 46729 £ per year.

The role will be based in the Regional Office, Newcastle and will assist the Head of Corporate Services to co-ordinate and support work relating to the duties of the Regional Secretary and Regional Managers. The post holder will, as part of a team, have responsibility for the administrative management of all procedures and processes affecting the management of the union as they relate to the most senior officials of the region and the effective implementation of UNISON’s objectives and priorities. The post holder will be required, as part of a team, to work closely with all internal structures of the union; such as the Regional Council Lay Officers and Senior Managers. The role will involve close working contact with regional government bodies, MPs and councillors. There will be a requirement for the post holder to establish and maintain comprehensive information systems.

The person we are looking for:

  • Experience of highly skilled executive organisation relating to diaries and meetings
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining comprehensive and confidential systems to plan, track and document data in various formats
  • Experience of providing committee support including booking dates and venues, preparing agendas and taking minutes
  • Ability to liaise and build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload and work on your own initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a highly functioning team
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Track record of a flexible and approachable attitude
