This is a full-time Technical Sales Engineer position based in the Coventry / Birmingham area. The Technical Sales Engineer will engage with prospective and existing customers to understand their technical requirements and propose suitable solutions. Daily responsibilities include:
- Preparing and delivering technical presentations
- Conducting product demonstrations
- Responding to technical and commercial inquiries
- Supporting the sales cycle with accurate quotations, specifications, and documentation
- Following up on leads and managing a sales pipeline
- Collaborating with engineering, production, and service teams to ensure feasible solutions
- Assisting with product configuration
- Providing post-sale technical support where needed
- Regular customer visits and attendance at industry events
- Maintaining detailed records in CRM systems
Qualifications:
- Strong Technical Sales and Sales Engineering skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions
- Experience in Sales and account management, including lead qualification, pipeline management, and closing opportunities
- Proficiency in Technical Support, helping customers diagnose issues, recommend remedies, and optimize use of products
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear written proposals, confident presentations, and effective customer interaction
- Background in engineering or a related technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) through education or equivalent experience
- Comfort reading technical drawings, specifications, and using basic engineering or CAD tools is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required, with a valid driver's license preferred
