We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Customer Service Assistant to join our Global Trade Management (GTM) team in Tilbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised administrator with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Supporting our GTM Client Managers, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of customer accounts by maintaining accurate data, producing reports and KPIs, supporting pricing activities, and liaising with both customers and internal operational teams. Your contribution will help drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and commercial success across a portfolio of key clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and communication to key GTM customers, ensuring queries are responded to promptly and professionally.
- Produce accurate customer reports, dashboards and KPI packs in line with agreed requirements.
- Maintain customer, shipment and compliance data across internal systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity at all times.
- Support pricing activities, including rate collection, quote preparation and maintenance of pricing information.
- Work closely with internal departments including Ocean, Air, Road, Warehousing, Customs and Finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor operational milestones and update systems to maintain visibility and accurate handovers.
- Assist GTM Client Managers with account administration, customer meetings, audits and project-related activities.
- Identify and elevate service issues, operational risks and customer-impacting exceptions.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures and customer-specific requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an administrative, customer service or logistics support role.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with Power BI would be advantageous but not essential.
- Understanding of logistics, supply chain or freight forwarding operations is desirable.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and support a positive team culture.
