We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, taking ownership of core IT infrastructure, endpoint, and security platforms across the business. This is a highly operational role where you will play a critical part in ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and high-performing. You will be responsible for supporting and continuously improving business-critical IT services, acting as a key escalation point, and driving infrastructure and security initiatives across corporate offices and operational sites. Working closely with Infrastructure, Service Desk, Security, and Operational Teams, you will help deliver robust, scalable solutions that support the organisation’s ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of core IT infrastructure, including endpoint, identity, security, and network platforms.
- Ensure systems are securely configured, stable, and continuously improved.
- Act as the technical escalation point for critical infrastructure and security issues.
- Implement, configure, and support infrastructure solutions across multiple environments.
- Manage device provisioning, application deployment, identity, and authentication services.
- Own and resolve live incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, performance, and connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with Service Desk teams and third-party suppliers to drive incidents to resolution.
- Support integrations across email, identity, and security platforms.
- Contribute to system migrations, acquisitions, and business change initiatives.
- Participate in infrastructure and security projects from design through to delivery and handover.
- Provide technical input, testing, validation, and documentation for projects.
- Plan and implement changes using controlled, phased approaches.
- Pilot and validate new technologies before full deployment.
- Monitor system performance post-implementation and resolve emerging issues.
- Apply security-first principles while balancing operational usability.
- Identify and elevate risks related to security or system performance.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across IT and the wider business.
Essential
- Strong experience supporting Windows-based infrastructure and endpoints.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory.
- Experience managing endpoint security and monitoring platforms.
- Networking knowledge, ideally with Cisco Meraki and/or Ubiquiti.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, business-critical issues.
- Experience working in operational or site-based environments.
Desirable
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Knowledge of security platforms such as Zscaler, Mimecast, or SentinelOne.
- Exposure to infrastructure or security project delivery.
