We are seeking a reliable and organised
Container Control Operative to join our busy container depot operation in Felixstowe.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate control, tracking and processing of containers moving through the depot while maintaining excellent communication with customers, drivers and operational teams.
Reporting to the Transport & Container Control Manager.
Working within a fast-paced logistics environment, you will be responsible for container administration, stock control, gate transactions, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the depot.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control container movements within the depot management system.
- Accurately record container arrivals, departures, inspections, and storage locations.
- Liaise with drivers, shipping lines, transport companies, customers, and depot personnel.
- Process gate transactions and relevant documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate any discrepancies.
- Ensure all data is entered accurately and within required timescales.
- Support container release and collection processes.
- Produce operational reports as required.
- Respond to customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with planning and coordinating container movements to maximise yard efficiency.
- Comply with company health, safety, environmental and security procedures.
- Work closely with depot, transport and operations teams to ensure service levels are achieved.
