Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Uniserve is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver to safely and efficiently deliver customer goods (5-6 deliveries per day) across multiple delivery locations while maintaining excellent service standards.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday and willing to complete 2-3 overnight stays per week as required by the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant at all times
  • Complete multi-drop deliveries and collections, typically 5-6 drops per day
  • Deliver goods safely, securely, and in accordance with customer requirements
  • Accurately complete all delivery documentation and use handheld devices where required
  • Ensure compliance with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, and Road Transport legislation
  • Maintain communication with the traffic office regarding delivery progress, delays, or issues
  • Secure loads correctly and carry out all required load checks during the journey
  • Provide excellent customer service and act as a professional ambassador for the company
  • Report vehicle defects, incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly
  • Keep the vehicle clean and presentable
  • Complete overnight stays (typically 2-3 nights per week) in line with operational requirements
  • Compliance and Safety Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with company policies, customer site rules, and industry regulations
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading practices are followed at all times
  • Wear appropriate PPE when required

Essential

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous Class 1 driving experience
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network
  • Strong understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time regulations
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
